The first delicious soup for Lantern Festival, nourishing for a whole year!
Today is the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, also known as Shangyuan Festival, Yuanxi Festival and Lantern Festival. It is the first important festival after the Spring Festival. Legend has it that Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty would go out of the palace to play and have fun with the people every night to celebrate Zhou Bo's reconnaissance of the chaos of Zhulu on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. In ancient times, the night was the same as the night, and the first month was also called the first month, so Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty designated the fifteenth day of the first month as the Lantern Festival. On the day of the Lantern Festival, the north eats yuanxiao and the south eats glutinous rice balls. Everyone also enjoys lanterns, guesses lantern riddles, plays dragon lanterns, dances lions, and various folk activities, which are very lively.

In ancient feudal society, the Lantern Festival also provided an opportunity for unmarried men and women to meet and get acquainted, because young girls in feudal society were not allowed to go out at will, but they were free to go out for fun during the Lantern Festival. It is a good opportunity for unmarried men and women to choose their favorite objects for themselves through the romantic lights. Therefore, the Lantern Festival is actually our authentic Valentine’s Day in China.

Because we will eat glutinous rice balls or Yuanxiao during the Lantern Festival, we would like to remind everyone here that glutinous rice is sticky and difficult to melt. Eating too much glutinous rice will burden the spleen and stomach, and glutinous rice balls are high in calories, so it is advisable for everyone to eat less, especially the elderly and children, and it is best to eat it in the morning or at noon, leaving enough time for the spleen and stomach to transform them. Uh, what do you have for Lantern Festival night?

Many times we will have a family reunion dinner together in the evening of the Lantern Festival. If you are tired of eating Lantern Festival during the day, you can eat some light food at night, for example, drink some soup. Today Yun Shao did not take everyone to cook glutinous rice balls, but brought you a light and delicious soup that is suitable for the whole family - Cordyceps Flower Chicken Soup.

We have introduced the novel Chinese herbal medicine Cordyceps flower to you before, but friends who are new to us may not have seen it, so before making the soup, let me briefly introduce the Cordyceps flower that we solemnly recommend.

Cordyceps flower is artificially cultivated in our country, a Chinese herbal medicine with the same effect as Cordyceps sinensis. The medicinal value, nutritional content and clinical effect of Cordyceps flower are comparable to that of Cordyceps sinensis, even better than that of Cordyceps sinensis. It is self-perspiring and stomach-cold, and has a mellow taste. It is very suitable for stewing soup with meat. It has the functions of nourishing the kidney and strengthening the body, nourishing the lungs and health, and balancing yin and yang. In spring and autumn seasons that are prone to dryness, making soup with Cordyceps flowers can relieve cough and asthma, moisturize the skin and beautify the complexion.

In addition to having the functions of Cordyceps sinensis, Cordyceps flower has another advantage in that it is cheap and can benefit more people than Cordyceps sinensis. If you want to know more about Cordyceps flower, you can see the link I put under the tutorial, which has a more detailed introduction.

Let's start making the soup:

First, prepare the ingredients: one broiler chicken, appropriate amount of Cordyceps flower, appropriate amount of medlar, four jujubes, ginger, and salt.

After washing the Cordyceps flower and jujube, soak for half an hour, wash the medlar and soak for a while.

Broiler chicken chop off the parts you don't eat, I don't eat chicken heads and chicken butts.

Wash the ginger and peel it. I peel it directly with the back of a kitchen knife. The back of a kitchen knife is really easy to use without hurting my hands. The peeled ginger skin must be kept, it will be useful later~

Cut three slices of ginger and serve.

Boil hot water, put in the freshly peeled ginger skin, put in the young chicken, and blanch it. Ginger skin removes foam and fishy smell, which is really a treasure.

After blanching, remove the broiler chicken~

Break open the jujube without removing the core.

Pour the Cordyceps flower and the water for soaking the Cordyceps flower into the pot.

Then add the soaked wolfberry, jujube, ginger slices and young chicken.

Add a sufficient amount of water, preferably warm water, to prevent the hot broiler chicken from being revived by cold water~

It's fine if the water is submerged in the broiler chicken.

Cover the lid, add enough water to the outer pot, we still stew in water, so as to ensure that the nutrition of the ingredients will not be lost to the greatest extent~

After the water is fully boiled, simmer for 2 hours on low heat. The same is true if you use a casserole to stew directly on the fire~

Before serving, add a proper amount of salt and stir well.

The unique milky fragrance of Cordyceps flower combined with the fresh and tender taste of broiler chicken makes this soup mellow and sweet, and at the same time has great nutritional and therapeutic value. Sure enough, the soup stewed with Cordyceps flower never disappoints!
