Heat-clearing medicine

Heat-clearing medicines are mainly used to treat febrile diseases with high fever and polydipsia, syndromes of excess heat in the lungs, stomach, heart, liver and other viscera, damp-heat diarrhea, damp-heat jaundice, warm-toxin spots, carbuncle sores and swollen toxins, and fever due to yin deficiency.
When using heat-clearing medicines, it is necessary to distinguish the deficiency and excess of heat syndrome.
Most of these medicines have cold and cool properties, which can easily damage the spleen and stomach, so those with weak spleen and stomach, less food and loose stools should be used with caution. Bitter and cold medicines tend to transform dryness and impair yin, and should be used with caution in patients with febrile disease impairing yin or yin deficiency and fluid loss. Heat-clearing medicines are contraindicated in syndromes of excess of yin and excess of yang or true cold and false heat.

Heat-clearing and blood-cooling medicine

If both qi and blood are burnt (fán), it can be used together with heat-clearing and gunpowder medicine to clear both qi and blood.
Scrophulariaceae
It was first recorded in "Shen Nong's Materia Medica".

This product is salty and cold into the blood system, which can not only clear away heat and cool blood, but also relieve fire and detoxify. Treatment of febrile diseases with fever entering the camp, body fever at night, upset and thirsty, red tongue and rapid pulse; treatment of febrile diseases with heat sinking into the pericardium, coma and delirium;
2. Fever damages yin, crimson tongue and polydipsia, fluid damages constipation, bone steaming and labor cough
This product is sweet and cold in texture, can clear away heat and promote body fluid, nourish yin and moisten dryness. Treatment of febrile disease and injury of yin, crimson tongue polydipsia, yin deficiency and body fluid injury, intestinal dryness and constipation, lung and kidney yin deficiency, deficiency of fire and inflammation, bone steam and labor cough.
3. Red eyes and swelling, sore throat, diphtheria, scrofula, carbuncle and sore
This product can not only relieve fire and detoxify, but also nourish yin and reduce fire. It is used to treat excessive heat in the liver meridian, red eyes and swelling pain, accumulation of heat and toxin, sore throat, diphtheria, hyperactivity of fire due to deficiency of yin, sore throat, carbuncle and sore, gangrene with flaming heat and toxin. Get this product salty and cold, have the merit of purging fire and detoxification, softening hard mass and resolving stagnation, and can be used to treat scrofula caused by stagnation of phlegm and fire.
