[Chinese Medicine] learning experience (75) Sijunzi Decoction

By tianke  •  0 comments  •   4 minute read

The notes I compiled are based on the textbook "Prescriptions" of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and some prescriptions that I think are good. The prescriptions written are all my personal experience, and the analysis methods are mainly based on the six meridians and the viscera. I am not a medical professional, studying medicine is purely a hobby. It is normal if there are mistakes in the text.

Anything that is tangible can be cured by both traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. We must admit that Western medicine is sometimes better than traditional Chinese medicine in treating tangible things, at least cleanly cut and replaced thoroughly, although there is no guarantee how long you can live after the cut and replacement. But there are two things in Chinese medicine that Western medicine can't cure at all, that is, intangible things-qi and meridians. Therefore, western medicine cannot cure qi disease and meridian disease.

Qi is a very characteristic concept of the Chinese nation, the soul of Chinese medicine, and it is extremely difficult for foreigners to understand, and it is extremely difficult for "Muyang dogs" who worship foreign cultures to understand. To sum it up in the simplest sentence: Qi is the function of the body. Deficiency of vital energy is exactly the disease that body function is low, insufficiency, weakness.

The way of Western medicine to treat the decline of body function is to stimulate the body with hormones. For example, if you are poor and have no money, Chinese medicine’s approach is to let you live a thrifty life, then find a job that suits you, make money slowly, save money slowly, and invest a little bit of surplus money every month. Accumulate wealth slowly. Western medicine asks you to sell your ancestral home, open a few credit cards to renew each other, and then borrow from the Internet, naked loans, sell blood, eggs, and kidneys, so as to maintain the current luxurious living standard.

The main clinical manifestations of qi-deficiency syndrome are: mental fatigue, shortness of breath, low voice, lack of breath, loss of appetite, or pale face, dizziness, palpitation, spontaneous sweating, pale tongue, thready and weak pulse and other symptoms. If the defense qi is deficient, people are prone to suffering from exogenous pathogenic factors or spontaneous sweating.

The way to treat deficiency syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine is to supplement. The spleen governs qi (produces qi), and the lung governs qi. If the spleen is deficient, the lung must be deficient, and if it is deficient, it will nourish its mother. Therefore, the treatment of qi deficiency is mainly to invigorate the spleen.

In the prescription, ginseng is used to nourish the temper. This ginseng can use white ginseng or Codonopsis ginseng. Northeast white ginseng works well, but it is a little more expensive, and it is hotter. Just use artificially grown ginseng, which is much, much cheaper than wild ginseng. The effect is not enough, the dosage is made up. The price of one wild ginseng is enough to buy a box of planted ginseng. Is the effect of a box of planted ginseng not as good as that of one wild ginseng? Moreover, you have to think about it, can your body bear wild ginseng?

The spleen is most afraid of two things: one is cold and the other is wet. Poria cocos promotes dampness, and the spleen will strengthen itself when the dampness is removed. Atractylodes macrocephala has the effect of nourishing the spleen, warming the spleen, and dispelling dampness. Glycyrrhiza licorice nourishes Qi and neutralizes the body, and can enhance the efficacy of ginseng and Atractylodes macrocephala. Only those with excessive moisture should use it with caution or not, because licorice root has the side effect of water accumulation.

Sijunzi Decoction is the basic prescription of qi tonic. After adding and subtracting according to the syndrome, it can be said that there is no syndrome of qi deficiency that it cannot cure. For example, for those with qi stagnation, add tangerine peel, which is Yigong San; for those with severe dampness, add tangerine peel and pinellia, that is Liujunzi Decoction; , add woody, kudzu root, Huoxiang, that is, Qiweibaizhusan; if the diet is tasteless, vomiting, nausea, add tangerine peel, Pinellia, Huoxiang, Magnolia officinalis, that is, eight dissolves; Add astragalus and lily, that is Liushen powder...

All diseases originate from Qi. It can invigorate and regulate qi, and basically you can cure a large number of diseases.
