C1/C1 genotypes are 2.5 times more likely to suffer from drug-induced hepatitis
Chinese Taipei Veterans General Hospital Physician pointed out that people with C1/C1 genotype constitution may be 2.5 times more likely to suffer from drug-induced hepatitis due to taking drugs; 60% of Orientals have C1/C1 genotype constitution, especially Patients who are taking anti-tuberculosis drugs should pay attention to whether the liver function index is normal.
Huang Yixin, a gastroenterologist at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, won the first prize of this year's Veterans General Academic Paper Award for his "Cytochrome P4502E1 Genotype and the Predisposition of Anti-tuberculosis Drug-Induced Hepatitis".
Huang Yixin pointed out that hepatitis B vaccination is common in China, leading to a decline in the incidence of hepatitis. However, with the aging population and drug use, drug-induced hepatitis may become a future trend.
After 15 years of research, he found that some people are prone to drug-induced hepatitis, and some people are less likely to have this problem; and statistics have found that 10 to 20 percent of patients taking anti-tuberculosis drugs have abnormal liver function, and even 100 percent Fatal fulminant hepatitis may occur in one in two cases.
Huang Yixin said that the cause of drug-induced hepatitis is that 90% of the drugs need to be metabolized by the liver. During this process, the toxic products are not discharged in time, and they will develop into drug-induced hepatitis, especially those with C1/C1 genotype constitution. The rate of suffering from drug-induced hepatitis due to taking drugs is 2.5 times that of ordinary people; the reason is that the C1/C1 gene can activate cytochrome P4502E1, thus producing more toxic intermediate products of anti-tuberculosis drugs.
He said that 60% of Orientals have C1/C1 genotype constitution, especially those who take anti-tuberculosis drugs. If symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, loss of appetite, or tea-colored urine occur, attention should be paid to whether the liver function index is normal. Since the course of anti-tuberculosis drugs is half a year, if drug-induced liver toxicity occurs, most of them will occur within one or two months after taking the drugs. Liver function tests are performed once a month.
Comment
"The previous article was too general. In fact, all western medicines can damage the liver. If you take an antibiotic, its toxin will stay in the liver for more than 27 years and cannot be metabolized. Even if you take too much vitamin A It can also lead to serious liver disease. Western medicine and vitamins are really abominable. It is immoral to make money and kill people."
