After months of debate over whether women's mammograms are life-saving, federal health officials issued new guidelines on Feb. 21 strongly recommending that women over the age of 40 be regularly screened. In the past, the recommended age for examination was 50 years old.
The guidelines, announced by U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Affairs Thompson, are recommendations made to the department by an independent committee of preventive medicine experts and endorsed by the National Cancer Society. This principle is the official US federal policy on mammography.
Millions of American women have had regular mammograms each year, but whether the screening actually reduces breast cancer deaths has been debated. Last October, Danish scientists said they had found serious flaws in what doctors consider the seven most important large international studies showing the benefits of mammography.
The National Cancer Society advisory panel agreed with the Danish scientists, concluding in January that the benefits of mammography do not necessarily outweigh the risks, including unnecessary surgery to remove tumors that may never become a problem. However, the conclusions obtained by the American Committee of Preventive Medicine are quite different.
After a two-year review, the committee recommends that women ages 40 to 69 should have a mammogram every one to two years, depending on individual preferences for individual medical studies. As for the flaws in the research, although they are doubtful, they are not serious enough to cancel the inspection.
Dr. Alan, vice chairman of the committee, said that overall, women who receive mammography regularly have a 23% reduction in breast cancer mortality compared with women who do not have mammography. Therefore, the association pointed out that it has "substantial evidence" showing that taking the examination every 12 to 33 months can significantly reduce the number of breast cancer deaths, especially in women over 50 years old.
The 15-member committee, known as the "American Preventive Task Force," issued two reports on early screening mammography in 1989 and 1996. to sixty-nine.
Dr. Allan said that while the committee's report stated that it was difficult to determine whether screening at 40 would be beneficial, the panel recommended that 40 Women over the age of 10 should be checked.
In addition to mammography, the group also looked at the effects of self-exams and clinical chest exams by physicians and concluded that because the screening technique can detect some other cancers, there was not enough data to determine whether it would reduce breast cancer deaths.

There are many such reports. Western preventive medicine is actually nonsense. Not only does it not help, but it scares many ignorant people to death. Let me give you an example to illustrate.
1. So far Western medicine has no idea where breast cancer comes from? (I don’t know where it comes from, how do I know how to prevent it?)
2. As early as the Song Dynasty in China, there were records of breast cancer (it was called Ruyan because it was as hard as a rock at the time). Because doctors were not popular, many women did not have any treatment at all. From the beginning of discovery to the end of death, the shortest survived for 14 years , and there is no pain, only the wound is as deep as a black hole and sees the bone, and a lot of black liquid flows out, and everything else is normal. In contrast, today's women are under the treatment of Western medicine, undergoing mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. During the process, they not only suffer , not to mention the suffering of the soul, but what is the result? Some live for half a year, some live for a year, and if you are lucky, you can live for 4 or 5 years. Marriage break-up caused by mastectomy, etc. Many unfortunate incidents come from this. Comparing the two, if a woman does not have breast examination at all, if she gets breast cancer and ignores it, it is far better than regular examination and treatment by Western medicine too much.
In the western world, utilitarianism is in command, everything takes profit as the first priority, and it doesn’t care about the patient’s life or death. That’s why such foolish articles are published. Most common people are ignorant, so I appeal to all women in the world not to do it For breast examination, as long as you are familiar with Hantang-No. 2 and No. 5 that I wrote, you will have enough knowledge to prevent and treat breast cancer.
The conclusion is: breast cancer is definitely curable, it depends on who you see a doctor.
