The eyelids keep beating - it may be the lack of body fluid!
Let me tell you a joke first. When I was teaching traditional Chinese medicine, I would often say something like this, saying that "the human body is short of body fluid". As a result, I occasionally read the notes written by everyone, and I was surprised to find that many people wrote it as "The lack of semen in the human body" made me very embarrassed. I felt that I must have a big tongue and slurred my speech. Therefore, every time the term "body fluid" was mentioned in the lecture, I had to add the sentence "Tianjin's Jin".
So, what exactly is body fluid? What does it do in our body?

Let me start with an example.

A few days ago, an entrepreneur friend in my WeChat circle of friends approached me. I teach Chinese studies in business schools all the year round, so there are many entrepreneur students in the WeChat circle. This friend said that a friend of hers had a strange disease, that is, the lower eyelid of the left eye trembled and twitched every day, and others could see it, as if it was shaking. Seeking medical treatment everywhere is ineffective, I hope I will show it.

In fact, in my circle of friends, many friends ask about colds and so on. I often don't bother to reply, and I will suggest them to seek medical treatment nearby. However, when encountering special circumstances, such as this strange disease, I will help analyze it. So, the patient's WeChat was added.

The patient said: "My illness has not worked everywhere, and now I have seen four doctors, and the result is four kinds of explanations, and I don't know what to do." She herself wrote in the circle of friends: "From the ordinary account After going to a famous expert clinic, I finally chose Chinese medicine, and came to the conclusion that not all people with high professional titles have high skills in hospitals, just like workplaces.”

So, what is this disease called? Western medicine is called hemifacial spasm.

I asked her to send a photo of her tongue. After looking at it, I judged that her body fluid was lacking, and her tendons were not nourished. In such a weak state, her face was attacked by cold evil, so she twitched. Therefore, it is suggested that she take such a prescription, seasoned with Pueraria decoction:

Fifteen grams of kudzu root, nine grams of cassia twig, nine grams of white peony root, six grams of roasted licorice, six grams of cicada slough, three slices of ginger, and seven jujubes. three mates.

As a result, after taking three doses, she sent feedback on WeChat: "I have no eye twitching symptoms yesterday and this afternoon, and the symptoms are still obvious in the morning. Overall, the improvement has been 30 to 40 percent."

So, I suggested her to use this formula again:

Nine grams of kudzu root, nine grams of cassia twig, thirty grams of white peony root, six grams of cicada slough, six grams of roasted licorice, three slices of ginger, and seven jujubes. Boil water, three times.

After the third session, she responded: "Basically, there was no convulsions for half a day, and the improvement was about 50 percent."

Then, a few days later, the patient came to WeChat: "Hello, Teacher Dalun, I have been menstruating these few days, so I stopped taking the medicine for three or four days. Now the eye muscle spasm has improved significantly, and it has stopped convulsing in the past two days. I I think your prescription is very effective! Thank you very much!"

So, I let her have time to make some black plum and white sugar soup as a drink, which can nourish the body fluid, so she doesn't need to take medicine.

In the process of this friend's body conditioning, the key to grasping the lack of body fluid. In the prescriptions I have been prescribing, white peony root has been reused, combined with roasted licorice. This is called sweet and sour Yin, which can nourish body fluid. If a person's body is deficient in body fluid, there will be muscle dystrophy, showing convulsions, jumping, and spasms.

What exactly is body fluid?

Body fluid in Chinese medicine is the general term for all normal water fluids in the body, including the internal fluids of various viscera, organs, organs, and orifices and their normal secretions. Body fluid is one of the basic substances that constitute the human body and maintain life activities.

Body fluid includes a wide range of contents. Except for the essence hidden in the viscera and the blood running in the blood vessels, all other normal fluids in the body belong to body fluid. Therefore, body fluid is one of the basic substances that constitute the human body and maintain the life activities of the human body.

Body fluid is the general term for body fluid. However, if it is subdivided, we need to know that since there are differences in properties, distribution and functions between Jin and Ye, the two should be distinguished conceptually.

"Lingshu·Wulong (lóng) Body Fluids" says: "Body fluids go their own way, so the three burners come out to warm the muscles and fill the skin, which is fluid; what flows but doesn't move is fluid."

Therefore, it can be said that in the body fluid, the texture is thinner, the fluidity is greater, the body surface is scattered on the skin, muscles and pores, and can penetrate into the blood vessels, and it plays a moisturizing role, which is called Jin; the texture is thicker , less fluid, perfused in the joints, viscera, brain, marrow, etc., and plays the role of nourishing, called liquid.
So, what is the purpose of our body fluid?

Body fluid has two functions, the first is: nourishing and nourishing.

Body fluid is a liquid substance that contains nutrients and has a strong moisturizing effect. Body fluid contains nutrients and has a rich nourishing effect. When a person’s body fluid is deficient, the body will lack nourishment, resulting in muscle twitches and spasms. Like the previous patient, when he saw this kind of twitches, he had to think about it. It’s a pity that there is no such thing in Western medicine. Therefore, the previous Western medicine has no solution for this disease, and can only prescribe some nerve-nourishing drugs to the patient, but it has no effect.

The second function of body fluid is to nourish the blood vessels.

Body fluid and blood help each other. When the fluid in the blood is insufficient, body fluid enters the veins and becomes an important part of the blood. It has been explained in "Lingshu Xieke" that under the action of nutrient qi, the body fluid will infiltrate into the veins together, transform into blood, and circulate the whole body to play the role of nourishing and nourishing.

However, body fluid is not the same as water dampness. This is what many people don’t understand. The water we drink is used and turned into body fluid and blood. What is not used will be excreted by the body through urine and sweat. However, if the body's righteousness is insufficient, it is unable to turn the water into blood and body fluid, and it is also unable to excrete excess water from the body, then the excess water remains in the body and becomes excess water. Affecting the movement of qi, blood and body fluid in the body, we call it evil qi, and it is called the evil of water and dampness.

Therefore, there will be such a situation, a person's body fluid is insufficient, but at the same time there is excess water, this is a lack of righteousness in the body, and a problem with the transformation function. At this time, it is not only necessary to nourish yin, but also to remove moisture.

Therefore, in such a situation of lack of body fluid, simply hanging water for an IV may not be effective. It will work in the case of artificial water shortage. The function is normal, if you give him water, he can convert it into body fluid. However, for those who drink water normally but lack righteous energy and are unable to convert it, it will not have much effect, because the human body cannot convert all water into body fluid.

The sour-sweet method of transforming yin in traditional Chinese medicine is a way to transform water into body fluid.

Therefore, in the previous conditioning process, the patient suffered from lack of body fluid, which led to the loss of nourishment of the tendons, and at the same time, he felt the external cold, which caused the muscles to twitch. At the beginning, I used a larger amount of kudzu root. This kudzu root soup contains cinnamon twig soup, which has the effect of strengthening the body and expelling evil spirits. (Gegen soup is forbidden for pregnant women.)

However, the second time I reduced the amount of kudzu root, and prominently let the white peony and roasted licorice play a role, let the acid in the white peony and the sweetness of the roasted licorice form a state of sour sweetness and yin, so that you can Breeds body fluid to moisten and nourish tendons. In this way, the patient's illness will be cured soon.

I don’t know if I’ve talked about this, do you understand the concept of body fluid?

In the future, we will introduce more body fluid knowledge to you when we have the opportunity. I often see women use various facial masks to replenish facial moisture. In fact, I think, if you learn to nourish body fluid, it seems that you don’t need to do this, right?
