Chenpi is a Qi-regulating Chinese medicinal herb. It aids digestion, relieves abdominal bloating and pain, resolves dampness-phlegm, and improves coughs. It is commonly used to alleviate symptoms such as poor appetite, excessive phlegm, cough, and wheezing. High-quality Chenpi requires citrus peels to be sun-dried and aged for over three years. The Chenpi produced in Xinhui, Guangdong Province, is considered the finest due to its rich aroma and plump oil glands. It can be steeped in hot water as a tea or used as a cooking ingredient. However, individuals with a constitution of yin deficiency with excess fire should avoid long-term use.
